What to Expect?

An Authentic Serangoon Village Tour Experience

On this Serangoon Village tour, we’ll bring you to one of Singapore’s oldest residential areas that are still clustered with HDB apartment flats; located just north of Serangoon Central. We’ll start the expedition by introducing you to the local’s favourite supper - the roti prata, dough flavoured with ghee (highly-clarified butter). It’s made by frying and usually served with fish or mutton curry. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, it hits the spot every single time. At this famous stall, you’ll also get to watch them flip and twirl the Prata high into the ceiling.

Once your stomach’s happy, we’ll take you on a walk through the void decks (you may meet some friendly locals) and a visit to a community park to understand how Singapore, one of the densest cities in the world turned beautifully green.

Finally, you’ll experience how the different ethnic groups in Singapore practice their religion and live in harmony. Spend a few moments appreciating the Hindu and Taoist temples. Then visit what is believed to be Southeast Asia’s largest Hindu shrine to Sri Muneeswaran, and the unique Hiang Foo Siang Taoist Temple.

At the end of this Serangoon Village tour, you'll be sure to bring home an eye-opening experience of Singaporeans' lives.
